When the new year starts, it's time to start seriously planning for the first foragers to appear in search of nectar and pollen. When this happens, over-wintered hives start building up at a rapid pace and thousands of bees leave the hive in one (or more) swarms to find a new home! Strategically built and placed swarm traps can often tempt these swarms into moving in, giving you an early start with free bees ready to start building out comb immediately! These swarm traps are 14 gallons in size, a perfect size to accomodate swarms. Designed to hang five frames at the top, there is a generous cavity below to give bees ample space to expand. Once a swarm is caught, it's a simple matter to move them frame-by-frame into a new hive. 

These swarm traps also come with instructions with advice for the best way to attract - and keep - your new bees! Built to last, this swarm trap can serve your needs year after year. Just add frames and you are good to go! If you don't have frames, I can provide those, too. Pole and mounting hardware show in picture not included. The trap can be placed virtually anywhere.

Like playing the lotto, the more traps you have, the higher the likelihood of success! Ordering several and placing them in different locations is highly recommended for success!
